Notes:

25aug09: azswing looking for chn 67 peak after chn turnoff.  (top)

Chn 67 (789.25 video carrier) turned off on 12aug09. We continued to see a residual signal at the video and audio carriers. It was not coming from the old chn 67 because the people at the station told us that the transmitter had been dismantled.
On 25aug09 an azswing was done to find the azimuth of the peak value of this signal. The setup was:
The plot shows the azimuth dependence of chn67 video and audio carrier (.ps) (.pdf):
The video peaks at az=-46 (or 314) degrees. There is also some power around 40 and 60 degrees. These directions given the maximum power scattered into the dome. They are not necessarily the directions toward the transmitter.

12aug09: tv chn 67 turns off. (top)

Low power tv channel 67 (789.25 MHz video carrier) turned off on 12aug09 in the early afternoon. This station had been causing strong rfi and harmonics/intermods in the 800 MHz receiver. Data was taken during the channel turn off. The setup was:

18jun09: freq hop 750 -> 753.7 MHz. source of rfi.  (top)

On 18jun09 180 second integrations were done at 750 and 753.7 MHz. Changing the first LO will show any rfi that is coming from a mixer harmonic.

The setup:

14jun09: azimuth swing (top)

An az swing 270->630 degrees was done on 14jun09 to find the azimuth direction where each rfi frequency was strongest. Frequencies with the same az direction are probably coming from the same source. These measurements were done with the warm receiver before the filter after the preamp was installed.

30oct08: Check how clean 839 Mhz is using hilltop monitoring data for oct08.  (top)

Images (dynamic spectra) were made for the bands 620-830 and 810-1100 MHz using the hilltop_monitoring_system.  6 days were placed on a each plot. The spectra come from a spectrum analyzer doing a peak hold for 1 minute. For a given frequency band the spectra are spaced by 19 minutes. The images use a db scale.
