Gps Rfi aug08

04sep09

Project a2010 (alfalfa) saw some interference near 1346.7 MHz while taking data during aug08. There setup was:
The table below shows when  the rfi was seen:

The first plots shows dynamic spectra for 22aug08 file 10 polA  (.gif) (beams 0:3)  (beams 4:6):
The 2nd plots show 20 1 second spectra for 22aug08 near the peak for beam2 (.ps) (.pdf):
The 3rd plot shows when the 1346.7 peaks occurred for each day (.ps) (.pdf):

Conclusion:

Se need a satellite that rises from the equator and has a sidereal rate orbit with a 12 hour period. Turns out this is what the gps satellites have.
Using the gps orbit calculator at http://www.calsky.com./cs.cgi  to see if any satellites were close to us..

So on these nites gps satellite 26 flew very close to our beam.
Gps will emit 1227.6, 1381.05, and 1575.42..I tried but did not find a simple way to mix any of these or there harmonics to 1346.7...So i don't know if the satellite had out of band emission or we created the frequencies in our system.
