Azimuth encoder1 failures in aug09

The azimuth 1 encoder has been failing during the later part of july and the start of aug09. This failure introduces a pointing error of up to 65 asecs (more info).
Plots were made of all of the encoder 1 and encoder 2 failures for 27jul09 thru 04aug09 (.ps) (.pdf):

Bottom: az encoder 2 failures.
The red dashed lines are the start of the ast day.
for 31jul thru aug02 much of the time (weekend) was using az encoder 2 for pointing. This introduced a pointing error of up to 65 asecs.
