    The 430dome Jennings relay for polB was found to be defective on 18oct12. It was acting as an AC coupler for the antenna input.

X102 calibration runs may12 -> oct12  (top)

    The calibration runs for 430dome may12 through oct12 showed the stokes I gain to be around 6 K/Jy. This is about 1/2 of the expected value. We have also seen the Tsys for polA varying from 50 to 90K while the Tsys for polB remains stable around 62K (this is probably a different problem).

    A calibration run was done on 14oct12 with the 430 Dome. The setup was:

    On 18oct12, the polB Jennings relay was replaced with an elbow.
We then replaced the Jennings relay (polB) with an elbow.

19oct12: readjust Jennings relay.. still trouble

    After the 18oct12 tests, the polB Jennings relay was brought down to the lab and it was readjusted. On 19oct12 the polB Jennings relay was reinstalled for some tests.

Test 1:rcvr moved off and then back on the sky to change Tsys. Jennnigs relay polB installed.

    The setup was:
      The plot shows   Tsys as the turret moved the 430 off and then on the sky (.ps) (.pdf)

Test 2: let sky drift through beam. Measure polA,B source strength with Jennings relay polB in and out.

    The setup:

    The plots show  tsys vs time with the Jennings relay in and out (replaced with an elbow) (.ps) (.pdf)

Test3:  rcvr moved off and then back on the sky to change Tsys. Jennnigs relay polB replaced by elbow.

    This repeated test1 with the polB Jennings relay removed. 

The plot shows   Tsys as the turret moved the 430 off and then on the sky (.ps) (.pdf)
