In between cricket matches and fine Indian cuisine, some observing also happened...

... with magnificent results. We discovered a new pulsar, PSR J0514-4002, in the globular cluster NGC 1851!

• This pulsar has the most eccentric orbit known for any binary pulsar system (e = 0.89)!
• All previously known pulsars in eccentric orbits had rotational periods of tens of milliseconds. PSR J0514-4002 has a rotational period of 4.99 ms!
• The companion mass is larger than 0.9 solar masses!
• This is the first pulsar discovered with the GMRT!
