8-10-2006 (MJD 54016) ------------------------- New pulsar!: J1935+26 (beam 3, G60.85+02.69.C_54016_0126) P = 5207.85 ms DM = 120.1 9-10-2006 (MJD 54017) ------------------------- Redetection in both periodic and single pulse search: B1925+22 (beam 2, G56.97+02.82.C_54017_0080) Class 2 cands: 2 periodic with high dm (700-850) 2 single pulse, 1 with 1 burst, 1 with 2 bursts; could be the same cand because the dm is very similar, detected in adjacent beams (5 & 6) 10-10-2006 (MJD 54018) ------------------------- Redetections: B1913+167 (beam 5, G50.51+02.56.C_54018_0063) B2002+31 (beam 0 & 4, G68.94-00.06.N_54018_0120) Class 2 candidates: 4 periodic, all with P = 2.1-2.9s, could be rfi because the periods and dm's are very different 11-10-2006 (MJD 54019) ------------------------- New pulsar! J2005+35 (beams 3 & 5, G72.65+02.10.C_54019_0122) P = 615.06ms DM = 353 Note the detection in non-adjacent beams, maybe it was also detected in beam 4 and/or beam 0, but because of rfi didn't make it among the top candidates. Over the past 2 days there has been awful rfi in the single pulse plots: non-radar, low-dm, doesn't seem to affect the number or type of periodic candidates but completely overwhelms the single pulse plots. Paulo thinks it's nearby thunderstorms, I thought the quicklook filters somehow got messed up and were not working because normally rfi in the single pulse plots is filtered out very well. 14-10-2006 (MJD 54022) ------------------------- Strong thunderstorm caused a power dip that left the telescope unable to move temporarily. We lost ~25min while the operator reset the system. The awful rfi that we saw on the 10th & 11th can't have been due to thunderstorms because tonight we were observing during one and didn't see the same rfi. Confirmation attempt for J1935+26 (beam 3, G60.85+02.69.C_54016_0126) failed, possibly because it was a weak candidate anyway. Prepfold of the confirmation observation at the candidate dm and period didn't show anything either. J2005+35 (beams 3 & 5, G72.65+02.10.C_54019_0122) was confirmed, appears in beam 5 with highest S/N, also appears in beams 3 & 4 at P/2. 16-10-2006 (MJD 54024) ------------------------- Confirmations: J2013+31 was confirmed, J1934+24 confirmation failed, possibly because of an error I made while adding it to the catalog (extra 0 on the same line). The error is now fixed so future confirmation attempts will hopefully work out. Class 2 cands: 4 single pulse candidates, 2 with 2 bursts and 2 with 1 burst.
