What EGRET Saw: Chasing the Rabbit Through the Looking GLAST
The EGRET instrument on board the Compton Gamma-Ray Observatory detected dozens of sources from our Galaxy at energies above 1 GeV. However, by the time EGRET dived into the ocean in 1999, only 6 of these had firm identifications as young pulsars. I will discuss the zoo of sources that have been discovered in EGRET error boxes since then, and predict what the next generation gamma-ray telescope GLAST will see after it launches this November.
