Although we practice what is known as Olympic style for competition purposes, we hold ties with the traditional style of taekwondo and it is part of our curriculum together with one step and hapkido personal defense techniques.

In our system of training, we teach students not only the physical part of taekwondo, but we also emphasize on the moral and mental characteristics. It is our goal that not only do they learn to compete and to defend themselves, not only do they get strong and self-confident but, they also learn to be humble and respectful towards others and towards those that represent authority, developing by these means into a better citizen and healthier human being.

Combat Hapkido

As an added incentive for the Junior and Adult population, our institute has afilliated as a Charter Member to the International Combat Hapkido Federation of Grand Master John Pellegrini. Combat Hapkido is a style developed exclusively for personal defense. Its roots come from Traditional Hapkido and then mixed with other interesting martial arts styles. Combat Hapkido is not a new style of martial art, it is not practiced as a sport. It is a scientific method developed to train juniors and adults with techniques that have proved effective for personal protection. Actually, we are teaching Combat Hapkido in our Dojangs at Utuado and Barceloneta which are certified for training and color belt promotions.

The TaeKwondo Mini-Olympiad

Every year, our organization hosts an invitational tournament called "Taekwondo Mini-Olympiad". In this tournament all schools invited are encouraged to compete in this great olympic style sparring event. Athletes of all ages and ranks can participate. As a special motivation for new athletes, we divide all the competitors in groups of four according to age, weight and rank and every group will be awarded 1st, 2nd, 3rd and 4th place. So, everybody feels confident because they will all be winners and after this experience of competition, many gain the confidence needed to move on to the bigger national and international tournaments.
