Tae CAMP Do is an outdoor camping during 3 days in a forest of Puerto Rico. Every family will bring a tent to sleep in during the weekend. Their gear consists of: clothes, Sleeping Bag, food and flashlights. Parents volunteer in groups and take turns to prepare meals for all the troop of Taekwondo campers. Camping starts Friday at 6:00 pm and after helping each other to setup the tents, there is a meeting at 8:00 pm. Under the light of a flashlight or campfire, they are instructed on the rules of safe camping in the wilderness, the care of natural resources, rules of discipline and the schedule of activities for the weekend.
On Saturday, after breakfast at 7:00 am, the activities will start and run until 5:00 pm. and then a special activity at 8:00 pm. Saturday activities start with a session of stretching, warm-up and Taekwondo technical training outdoor in the woods for all students. Then there is a session of aerobics for adults and games for the little ones. There is also a personal defense workshop for young and adults and a promotion test for those who qualify. At night we celebrate a Camp fire where everybody joins in and shares songs, jokes and stories until midnight. On Sunday we start again very early with the stretching and exercise routines. Then there is a talk given by the Natural Resources personnel and Forest Rangers. After that we all go on a hiking, educational expedition into the woods. In the late afternoon, after returning from the expedition, all Tae Campers, will start a cleanup process, gather all their gear, take down all tents and leave all the area in the same way it was before Camping started on Friday. Then everybody will head for home with a great experience to remember for many days.
