We offer support for all type of media that wishes to do an assignment at the National Astronomy and Ionosphere Center "Arecibo Observatory" of Puerto Rico

The procedure should start with a call to Tony Acevedo ( 787-878-2612 x228 ) or email ( jacevedo@naic.edu )

This request should include a description of your assignment or project, how it will be used, date to be at our site, extra resources needed etc.

           *Any request that involves commercial or profitable purposes should be specified and include all details *

Use of Images from our Web Site
are available for downloading ( proper credits will apply as follows: )

A request for permission to reprint should be sent via email

Filming request
Projects that involve Filming on Observatory Grounds must begin with a call or email to Tony Acevedo describing the project, how it will be used, proposed dates etc.

Some requirements for filming projects will include:

  • Copy of the Script
  • Compliance with a "Limited use Agreement"
  • Proof of Insurance
  • Other paper work and requirements

Journalists and other Graphic Media
Projects for Press Reports, News or Magazine Articles, Photographs, etc must begin with a call or email to Tony Acevedo describing the project, how it will be used, proposed dates etc.

Some requirements will include:

  • Detailed description of the assignment and purpose
  • Proof of Insurance
  • Other paper work and requirements

It is important that requests be made with sufficient time in advance in order for us to coordinate and establish the logistics. Paper work and approvals always take time so, Plan Ahead !

  • For all assignments done at the Arecibo Observatory, we request a copy of the final product after published or released, solely for our archive purposes.
