Visit to AO of Hon. Lisa Kubiske

November 3, 2012

on November 3, 2012 Hon. Lisa Kubiske, US Ambassador in Honduras visited the Arecibo Observatory. The Ambassador was given a VIP tour of the facility and together with Dr. Mike Sulzer we showed her and her husband the platform, the Ángel Ramos Foundation Visitor Center, the Control Room and the 430 MHz Transmitter. The Ambassador was able to talk to the students and mentors of the Pre-College Saturday Research Academy at the Arecibo Observatory. She was very impressed with the research of the high school students and we are planning to implement a research program for students from Honduras Universities with funding of the USAID at Arecibo Observatory and Puerto Rico Universities.
