Visit to AO of Dr. Di Li and Dr. Yiqi Peng

On January 28, 2013 Dr. Di Li, from the Chinese Academy of Sciences, and Dr. Yiqi Peng, from the Ministry of Science and Technology in Beijing, China visited the Arecibo Observatory and the Ana G. Méndez University System. A VIP tour was given to both scientists at the Arecibo Observatory and in the evening Dr. Di Li offered a talk to Ana G. Méndez University System (AGMUS) students at UMET campus. The title of the talk was “The Largest Radio Telescope of the World (FAST).” Dr. Di Li and Dr. Yiqi Peng met Dr. Robert Kerr at the Arecibo Observatory facility, Dr. Carlos M. Padín at UMET campus, and Dr. Jorge L. Crespo at the Vice Presidency for Planning and Academic Affairs of AGMUS. FAST, through Dr. Di Li are interested to sign a MOU to establish a permanent collaboration between FAST and the Arecibo Observatory in areas of research development of instruments, education, and technical exchange.
