Nuclear and Particle Physicists visit the Arecibo Observatory

A group of Nuclear and Particle Physicists that are in Puerto Rico participating in their Winter Workshop on Nuclear Dynamics visited the Arecibo Observatory on April 12, 2012. Dr. Robert Kerr Director of the Arecibo Observatory welcomed this group of 47 attendees and gave them an in depth presentation of the Observatory in general  with details on the astronomy and astrophysics  science conducted at the World’s Largest and most sensitive Radio telescope. Later the group was invited to visit the Control Room area and other scientific and Technical staff members like, Dr. Michael Nolan, Ellen Howell, Dana Whitlow, Phil Perrillat and visiting scientist Dr. Herb Carlson  joined Dr. Bob Kerr in explaining the operation and investigations being conducted.
