Arecibo Observatory Pre-College Saturday Research Academy

Description
The Arecibo Observatory (AO) Pre-College Saturday Research Academy is a 16-week program where students from schools (both public and private) from Puerto Rico participate in research experiences in the areas of Atmospheric Sciences, Astronomy and Computer Science. These pre-college students have a once-in-a-lifetime experience of working hand-in-hand with AO scientists in research projects related to their field of interest. Each pre-college student works in an individual or group project with the supervision of the mentor/scientist with the main goal of exposing these students to the research experience and to open the door for all the future opportunities they may have in science-related fields. All of their outcomes will be presented at the bi-annual AGMUS Pre-College Symposium in which more than 450 pre-college students present their outcomes to the scientific and academic community.
