Registration

We are not requiring a formal registration, however, please let us know if you will be attending the meeting. This information will help us with planning and organizing. Eva will need a message with an e-mail, phone number and any special dietary preferences (for example vegetarian).

Transportation

We will try to provide you with transportation from the airport. Please provide Eva your exact arrival date, time and airline. If you're the only person traveling, you may have to take a taxi (publico) to Arecibo. The cost for a taxi (publico) varies from $70 to $100 depending on the time of day and your negotiating skills. You can call me at area code 787-878-2612 ext 309 or e-mail me at erobles@naic.edu. Another option is to make arrangements to rent a car in San Juan prior to your arrival with Hertz, Avis etc.

Lodging

  • We have very few rooms left on site. The price of these rooms is $42 a night and you must be willing to share your room. These are available on first come first serve so if you are interested in this option contact Eva immediately.

  • The Posada palomar

    is about 40 minutes from the Observatory and has about 10 single rooms ($65) and 10 double rooms ($80). Please contact eva for details.

  • The Buen Cafe is about 30 minutes away and costs $72.22 for a single.

    Finally, for those who will arrive on Saturday, March 4, 2000 (for the sat. night stay-over) we are planning a social event for Sunday, March 5. We are open to suggestions but the options so far are an excursion to the Camuy caves or a picnic at the beach.
