29nov10: az swing looking at 734.7-739.3 Mhz rfi
24nov10: 734.7-739.3 Mhz rfi in band

Intro:

Project a2524 reported rfi in the frequency range 734.7 -> 739.3 Mhz. To investigate this rfi:

Conclusion:

This is part of the FCC block B lower 700 Mhz band auctioned off on 18mar2009.  see: 700Mhz band auction for PR:

24nov10: 734.7-739.3 Mhz rfi in band. First report (top)

Project a2524 reported rfi in the frequency range 734.7 -> 739.3 Mhz during their 20,21,22 nov10 800 Mhz runs.
The plots show the rfi in the 734.7 - 739.3 Mhz range (.ps) (.pdf):
Data taken by A2524 in late sept, early oct10 did not show this rfi. The x111 rfi monitoring data (taken thru the telescope) was searched to see when the rfi started:

The rfi was also seen in the the  hilltop rfi monitoring system (antenna, filters, amplifiers, spectrum analyzer)
On 24nov10 dana and i went to the platform with a log periodic and Tektronix spectrum analyzer to see if we could see anything.

29nov10: az swing looking at 734.7-739.3 Mhz rfi  (top)

2 az swings were done on 29nov10 looking at the 737 rfi. The setup was:
The first plots show the total power variation in the 734.7-739.3 Mhz band  vs az position (.ps) (.pdf):
The second plots show the spectra durnig CW the az swing (.ps) (.pdf):
